Spread good energy Hometown Grants

Helping local non-profits spread good energy and win up to $10,000 for community improvement projects

The top 10 Hometown Grant finalists for 2023 have been selected! Now it's time for you to do your part: VOTE for your favorite community projects. The four projects with the most 'likes' by March 24 will each win up to $10,000 to complete their projects, plus a day with a team of Evergy volunteers to help.

The 2023 finalists are:

Friends of the Kaw, Lawrence KS

Passageways Living Center, Wichita KS

Top City Trails Alliance, Topeka KS

Generating Income for Tomorrow (GIFT), Kansas City Metro

Healthy Bourbon County Action Team, Ft. Scott KS

We'll review the submissions and contact the top 10 finalists on or before March 7.

  1. Go to our Facebook page to “like” and share your project with your followers from March 10–24
  2. The 4 projects with the most "likes" by March 24 at 5pm CST will each win up to $10,000—plus, a team of Evergy employee volunteers* for a day!

Project Examples

Get inspired! Here are just a few examples of potential projects:

  • Improve a community space that helps vulnerable and underserved populations
  • Host an environmental project such as a park and trail improvements
  • Design a program to help stimulate workforce readiness or youth development

 

*Evergy Employee Volunteer Details

Winning projects will demonstrate how the organization can use both the $10,000 grant and a team of Evergy employee volunteers for one day. The one-day Evergy volunteer event must take place between April 14–April 30, 2023 and will be coordinated and mutually agreed-upon by Evergy and the winning organization.
