Evergy Cares Kansas Fund
A pilot program to help income-eligible customers stay on top of energy bills.
Kansas customers with an existing Payment Agreement with Evergy may qualify for additional assistance.
Please note you do not qualify if you have received more than $500 in energy assistance in the last 90 days.
To qualify, customers must have an existing Payment Agreement with a balance of no more than $500.
Applicants must ALSO meet one or more of the following requirements:
- Age 65 or older or receiving permanent disability income from SSI or SSD -- up to $400 credit
- Total household income below these guidelines -- up to $200 credit

After submitting, residents of Butler, Harvey, Sedgwick or Sumner counties can schedule their in-person appointment at Evergy Connect Wichita, located at 111 Ellis St., Wichita, KS 67211.
Residents of other Kansas counties will be contacted directly by the Evergy Cares team for a virtual appointment.
You'll need to bring these items with you to your appointment:
- Your most recent Evergy bill
- Verification of each source of income within your household (Income verification can include paycheck stubs, letter from Social Security office for current year, printout from DCF, printout from unemployment office, worker compensation, child support, alimony, pension, VA benefits, etc)
- Second proof of address (in addition to your Evergy bill)
These items will be shredded afterward, so either bring copies or only items you're okay having shredded.
