How does Evergy’s system work?

Transmission lines are similar to interstates or highways, carrying electricity long distances from the generation source to substations and from substation to substation. Distribution lines are similar to city streets, carrying electricity to homes and businesses. Electricity is generated in our power plants, wind farms and solar arrays. From the generation source, it travels through transmission lines to substations, then to distribution lines, which carry power to service lines for homes and businesses.
