Home Protection Plans to End December 1, 2026
Evergy’s Surge and Wiring Home Protection Plans will no longer be available for customers after December 1, 2026.
What this means for you
Your current Home Surge Protection, Home Wiring Protection and/or Water Heater Repair Service will continue as usual until December 1, 2026. After that date, Evergy will no longer provide or service these plans.
A new option for your home protection: Oncourse® Home Solutions
To ensure you don't experience a gap in service, Evergy has partnered with Oncourse® Home Solutions, a nationally recognized provider of home protection programs*, that offers surge protection at an affordable price point, so you can maintain coverage at comparable pricing.
What's next?
- Review your options by downloading this PDF to compare plans or calling us before December 1, 2026, at 816-472-0432 if you have questions or need to file a claim.
- Enroll with Oncourse at any time if you decide you’d like to continue home protection coverage beyond December 1, 2026. If you choose to enroll with Oncourse before your Evergy protection program ends, it will automatically cancel your Evergy Home Protection plan to avoid overlapping coverage. You can enroll with Oncourse by calling 833-289-1856 or visit Oncourse.com/Evergy.
- Enroll with another third-party home warranty provider if you’d like to continue coverage beyond December 1, 2026. Evergy has partnered with Oncourse Home Solutions to help minimize potential service disruptions, offering comparable coverage options at similar monthly prices; however, you are free to choose any home protection service provider that meets your needs.

Surge Protection
The surge protection device may remain on your home. However, Evergy and Oncourse will no longer service or maintain the device, apart from removing the device.
If a replacement is needed, a licensed electrician may be able to replace it with a new device that the customer purchases independently.

Evergy Home Protection Programs are not regulated by the Missouri Public Service Commission or the Kansas Corporation Commission. Oncourse Home Solutions programs are offered and administered solely by Oncourse, not Evergy, and are optional. Enrollment is not required to receive or maintain Evergy utility service. Oncourse is not an affiliate of Evergy.
*The Surge Protection Program offered by Oncourse does not include a surge protection device. Evergy customers can keep the surge protection device installed by Evergy; provided, however Oncourse will not install, maintain, or warranty the operation of that surge protection device as part of its Surge Protection Program.
