Self-Reporting Meter Read Form

Here's how to self-report your non-standard meter readings

Please note: Only those participating in the Non-Standard Meter Program may use this form.

Please report your usage between the last day of the month and the second day of the following month. For example, April readings should be reported between April 30 and May 2 at 11:59pm CT.

If you do not read and report your meter usage for two (2) consecutive months or any three (3) months in a rolling twelve-month period, Evergy will resume monthly readings of the meter.

Reading your meter

Your meter's screen cycles between two displays.

One of these displays the total kWh (kilowatt hours) on your meter. This is the number you'll report each month.

On the form below, please include the entire number. There is no need to include "kWh".

You will also need your meter number, an 8-digit number (no letters) on the front of your meter, usually on a lower label.

(For your own information, you can easily calculate the number of kilowatt hours you've used in a given month by subtracting last month's meter reading from this month's.)

Monthly reporting form

xxx-xxx-xxxx
For example, if you are reporting on July 1, you are reporting for June.
This is an 8-digit number (no letters) located on the front of your meter, usually at the bottom.
Enter the entire number on Display 1 of your meter (which ends with kWh). Enter only numbers.

1. I agree to report accurate readings, on a monthly basis, of my meter. If I fail to report my usage by the 2nd day of each month (by 11:59pm CT), Evergy will estimate my usage for the prior month for the purposes of billing.

2. Twice a year, Evergy may obtain an actual reading of my usage to verify the accuracy of self-reported readings.

3. If I fail to report my meter usage for two (2) consecutive months or any three (3) months in a rolling twelve-month period, Evergy may resume monthly readings of the meter.

4. If the number of self-read customers rises over 200, Evergy may reassess or limit this self-read option.
