Throughout the holiday season, we are committed to making our communities brighter by powering lighting displays throughout Kansas and Missouri. Use the guide below to explore these cheerful holiday lights!
Kansas City
Plaza Lights
A local tradition for more than 90 years, the Evergy Plaza Lights is a 15-block holiday spectacle on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. This year’s Evergy Plaza Lighting Ceremony will be held Thanksgiving night, 5-8 pm.
During Evergy Festival of Lights at Powell Gardens, more than 20 miles of lights turn Kansas City’s botanical garden into a winter wonderland! The festival lights will shine Nov. 16-Dec. 30, Wed.-Sun. 5-10 pm.
Ring in the holiday season with Zoo Lights presented by Evergy! Topeka Zoo’s newest holiday tradition is returning for a fourth season, Nov. 17-Dec. 30. Visitors can stroll around the zoo and enjoy displays of twinkling lights and festive activities.
Festival Forest will be held at Fairlawn Plaza, 2114 SW Chelsea, Dr. Topeka, Nov. 21-Dec. 2, 10 am-6 pm with FREE admission. Visitors can also participate in a silent auction to take home one of the fabulous designs at the end of the festival.
Head to TARC's Winter Wonderland, Nov. 22-Dec. 31. With over 1 million dazzling holiday lights you can enjoy a scenic two-mile drive at Lake Shawnee Campground, 3435 SE East Edge Road, Topeka. Admittance is a suggested $10 donation per vehicle.
Illuminations is a complete holiday family event that lasts from Nov. 24– Dec. 30, 5:30-9:30 p.m. In additional to over two million lights, several all-new magical light displays will be incorporated. Tickets must be reserved in advance and can be purchased here.
Lights at AbilityPoint, a Christmas lights drive through, helps raise funds to support programs and services for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities all year round. Enter the display at W. Douglas Ave. and N. Saint Paul St., Nov. 24- Dec. 28, Sun.-Thurs., 5-9 pm, Fri. and Sat., 5:30-10 pm.
